Acts 20:27 For I have not shunned to declare to you the whole counsel of God.
At Calvary Chapel Birmingham, we are compelled by the Love of God to reach others however and wherever the Lord leads. Missions and outreach are very important to us because they are very important to our Lord.
Local Outreach
On the first Sunday of every month, we take a second Sunday morning service to Lakeview Estates Senior Living Center on Valleydale Road to minister to the residents and staff there. Through worship music and Bible teaching, we share the love of Jesus to these precious people. Won’t you join us? Check the calendar for more information.
On the third Saturday of every month, through our Show and Tell the World ministry, we gather together to serve our friends and neighbors however we can. Sometimes we help with yard work, home maintenance, and sometimes we bring them some good old encouraging fellowship. Check the calendar for more information about Show and Tell the World as well as other local outreach events.
World-Wide Missions
In addition to our local outreaches, we support missions around the world. Calvary Chapel Birmingham pray for and support financially:
For Zion’s Sake: For Zion’s Sake Ministries is a Jerusalem based non-profit, humanitarian aid organization – established and dedicated to assisting the needs of newly arriving immigrants. For most, starting over in Israel is physically and emotionally, as well as economically, overwhelming. After the slaughter of more than 6 million Jews in the Holocaust, the state of Israel was reborn miraculously in one day on May 14, 1948. God’s chosen people began returning to their ancient homeland seeking refuge. Thousands of new immigrants come to Israel every year to escape persecution in the form of anti-Semitism and economic and civil oppression. Over one million Jews from the former Soviet Union have returned home since 1988 alone, and their needs are staggering. Most of these immigrants arrive in Israel with only the clothes they carry with them in their suitcases. The transition of starting over in a strange land is extremely difficult for most of the immigrants (Olim). Lack of employment, insufficient language skills, and a myriad of cultural challenges cause many to become discouraged and lonely. Because of these hardships, twelve percent of new immigrants choose to leave Israel. To Donate to For Zion's Sake Click Here.
CRAM (Christ Reaching Asia Ministries): Taking the love of Jesus into China, Vietnam and North Korea through practical means.
Believers Bridge: Believers Bridge is a non-denominational evangelical mission-sending organization providing resources and training for pastors and leaders around the world. Believers Bridge has a unique calling. Most missionary organizations target an area of the world and send a team of missionaries to that area to conduct evangelism and eventually plant a church. Believers Bridge was formed as a direct answer to the specific request by evangelical church leaders in the Andes for the training and resources that we can help to provide. David and Amy: Faithfully serving the Lord, sharing the gospel on the front lines of persecution. They minister in a part of the world where religious practice is illegal as well as the printing and use of Christian literature. We cannot give more detail because the atmosphere where they are is so dangerous.
High-Gates Educational Centre: In Kenya East Africa, Rogers Audi and his wife Cynthia care for vulnerable and orphaned children and teach them the Bible, give them firm foundation in Christ, so that when they Grow up they can stand and defend the Word, walk the Word and speak the Word of God. Mission Tonga: James and Mele Baxley are ministering the Gospel on the island of Tonga. To Donate to Mission Tonga Click Here.
Eastern Europe: The Tuckers are a family answering God's call to go and make disciples. They are ministering in Eastern Europe in a young church that ministers to its community and surrounding areas. To Donate to Eastern Europe Missions Click Here.
