Join Pastor shawn and the gang at Calvary Chapel Birmingham as they study the Bible verse by verse and chapter by chapter. Today we continue our study in 1 Corinthians with chapter 9 as Paul moves from meat from sacrifices to idols to his manner of Apostleship in order to illustrate that while Christian liberties do exist, the Christian’s highest aim is love. In his writing about his Apostleship, we find that Paul was very passionate about his calling. So today in chapter 9, we’re going to explore having the Lord as our PASSION; what Paul says that looks like and what it entails. Our goal for this morning is to solidify our understanding of what a life passionately lived for Jesus looks like.

Today we continue our study in 1 Corinthians with chapter 5 as Paul confronts the Corinthian church on their tolerant attitude toward blatant, unrepentant sin among them. The goal of our study is to recognize that sin is a corrupting influence and blatant sin in the church should be confronted and dealt with, sternly and compassionately. And Paul says that sometimes this means putting an unrepentant brother or sister out of the fellowship. Find out how church discipline is carried out Biblically.
