Genesis 47:10 So Jacob blessed Pharaoh, and went out from before Pharaoh.
Hebrews 7:7 Now beyond all contradiction the lesser is blessed by the better.
So, Jacob blesses the Pharaoh. This blessing might have been something like the priestly blessing:
Numbers 6:24–26“The Lord bless you and keep you; The Lord make His face shine upon you, And be gracious to you; The Lord lift up His countenance upon you, And give you peace.” ’
No doubt the blessing glorified God in the presence of Pharaoh.
Psalm 119:46 I will speak of Your testimonies also before kings, And will not be ashamed.
“God bless you.” What a great thing to say, both to believers and non-believers. Do you realize the power of blessing one another in the name, power and authority of our Father … the One Who created the universe? What wonderful words to say and what a testimony to the Source of blessings in your own life! Bless people. Verbally and physically. Bless people. Think about how you can be a blessing to others. Pray about how you can be a blessing to others. God loves to bless His children and when He does, we should allow blessings to flow through us and into the lives of others.
2 Chronicles 7:10 “On the twenty-third day of the seventh month he sent the people away to their tents, joyful and glad of heart for the good that the LORD had done for David, for Solomon, and for His people Israel.”
Was everyone within Israel following God? Of course not and I’m sure there were some scallawags in the congregation, but when a spiritual leader is operating and abiding in the calling and vision of the Lord everyone benefits. It’s important that we recognize the flow of blessings in our lives. It’s also important that our families not be a dam, stopping the flow and hoarding up all the joy for ourselves. There is no room for selfishness or self-centeredness in a house of Jesus followers. The Lords blessing should flow right out of the house and to friends and neighbors. It should be apparent to your neighborhood that the Lord is your God because they see the fruit of the Spirit in operation in your life and in your families lives.
If you were to go for a walk in an apple orchard, you wouldn’t hear the trees groaning under the weight of making fruit. So, also, the fruit of salvation is not something that we groan and strain to produce. Apple trees producing apples happens quite naturally because God created apple trees in such a way that they do just that. Consider also that there is a cycle of blessings that takes place in that orchard. Fruit is produced but the trees don’t hold onto it for themselves. Instead that fruit drops to the grounds and the nutrition is enjoyed by people, by animals, by the tree that dropped the fruit and by other plants and trees within the orchard. The fruit also brings about the creation of new trees that continue the cycle
The Lord has blessed you and it’s up to you to show it by letting the blessings flow to others.
1 Corinthians 3:6 I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the increase.
As you allow those blessings to flow out into the lives of others, seeds are planted, seeds that get watered by other believers and God gives an increase.
